Imagine perfect life. A beautiful, smart, young lady and a handsome, passionate, funny man who live in a detached house with a beautiful green garden in Ireland. Pure teenage love which ends in church, where this couple gets married. They know everything about each other. When he talks, she can finish his sentence. When she cries, he always knows what to do to make her laugh again. High standard of living, loving family and real friends.
Everything loses its importance when Gerry's headaches are diagnosed as a brain cancer and Holly loses him in a few short months.
She is depressed, devastated, exhausted, sad and unmoored. She hasn't just lost her husband, she's lost her very identity. She's lost her life.
Before he died, Gerry wrote to Holly ten letters. One letter for every month starting from March. The following envelopes must be opened exactly when labeled and must be obeyed. In this way, he is teaching her how to start the new life without him, how to face new reality, how to make new memories. Each letter gives her a task or sends her on a great adventure. For Holly every message means that Gerry is still next to her.
In ten months time Holly is getting to know her family members from different sides than she used to. Her best friends try to live in a normal way, what annoys her so much from time to time. Sometimes she's happy, sometimes she cannot find the reason to get out of bed. However, every letter, every piece of Gerry, gives her the power to go further. With some help from her greatest friends and overprotective and funny family, Holly finds her new way of life. She achieves her goals, one by one.
During her journey through the new life she meets a handsome Daniel, who becomes her friend. They spend a lot of time together and she can always relay on him. Before opening last letter from Gerry, she has to make a very important decision about her feelings and her relationship with Daniel.
Do you want to know more? I won't tell you ;p Read this book! http://www.4shared.com/get/52385517/8e0b326c/PS_I_love_you.html;jsessionid=1566AF1F5F1FC3964E3FFD261809BC57.dc49
This is not the kind of a stupid romantic story about Her and Him. This is a novel about blessing of friendship, family and the eternal nature of true love. It's a story about commitment and love, which can turn death into new beginning for life. The most amazing things for me were different emotions while I was reading. I was crying and laughing after a while. And I'm glad there was no pathetic story ending. Thank you Gosiu for recommendating this book, the first English book I've read.
THE TITLE
Every letter is ending with words PS, I love you. It's my favourite, the most incrdible message:
Don’t be afraid to fall in love again. Open your heart and follow where it leads you . . . and remember, shoot for the moon . . .
PS, I will always love you . . .
I hope you will find your own Gerry.
